I’ve included this page only because I am getting questions about what Auto-responder /mailing list /newsletter service I am using.

FYI: NONE!

Yes, that’s correct, you cannot find any subscription forms to any newsletter on any of my sites! Nor am I using those sodden “squeeze pages”!

I was Finally able to get rid of my last newsletter couple of months ago. Yipeee, Yipee, Yeah! Yes! Yes!!!

However since I get these questions here are the services I have my experience with:

1.) Dada mail from http://mojo.skazat.com/

Dada Mail is an auto-responder, web-based e-mail list management which runs on any hosting account that can execute custom CGI scripts.

Has so many features and options many Paid software don’t have: “Dada Mail handles double opt-in/opt-out subscriptions, sending complex announce-only and/or discussion mailing list messages, archiving/viewing/searching/resending/syndicating (rss, atom) sent messages and doing all this and more with style.

I have used Dada mail for all my former newsletters, was very satisfied with it, until I switched to the

2.) ubiquitous Aweber Autoresponder from Aweber.com

The Main reason I switched was the “security” which it offered. Because every time I’ve sent my ezine there Always would be some bozos cursing me and accusing me of spam and everything else what got wrong in their miserable lives - although I haven’t stood with a gun to their little brains to force them to subscribe. They not only did it voluntarily, they actually had to Confirm their subscription! Nevertheless I got these nasty emails, so I created a standard response back which basically told them that I am using 3rd party Paid Professional service Aweber which requires Double-opt in Confirmed subscription, so if they wish to discuss their accusations with the Aweber Legal department they are free to do so. Never heard of any of these bozos again!

So Aweber Was worthy those 19 bucks/month they charge.

3.) Don’t forget your Control panel guys!

If you are smart enough to have a webhost with Fantastico scripts you can find PHPList - A powerful mailing list featuring multiple mailing lists and attachments there.
Although I have to admit, I tried it - just Because it’s there - stayed with Dadamail.

You also have a simple Auto-responder in your Cpanel Mail section. And even it is a very simple auto responder it is good for fast one-time messages or notifications.

There are of course Many other auto-responder, newsletters services and scripts online, some of them are paid, some of them are free - but those 3 above have been I have been using the most.

Actually, there used to be another free script from a marketer by the name Wes Blaylock I started with and was actually using for couple of years. It was a cute little simple script which worked flawlessly before those Double optins become necessity. Not sure if he is still offering it though…

Somebody asked me the other day what am I using as a text editor?

Even I am still using Notepad for most of my own HTML writing, my Most Favorite text editor is EditPad. It is truly a great Windows text editor with lots of features, incl. Unlimited Tabs.
You can either buy a Professional version EditPadPro for $49.95 or
you can download a Free version: EditPad Lite.

Another text editor I mostly used for writing and formatting my (former) ezines is NoteTab
There is a Standard version for $19.95
Professional version (which is programmable) for $29.95
They also offer a basic Light version which is Free.

There is also another text editor many people I know off are using, called TextPad
I downloaded the free trial but found it a little bit complicated for my simple tasks, so I basically never used it.
They offer a free trial, the price is $30 US, or 16.50 UK Pounds for Single user license.

If you need a good Text Editor just check those 3 above.

I had a question what WordPress plugins I am using.
So here is the list of my 10 most used WordPress plugins

1.) Akismet antispam plugin

- eliminates the comment and trackback spam. Obviously uses bayes AI as it is able to ‘learn’
Turn on the option “Automatically discard spam comments on posts older than a month” in case you will be busy.

2.) WordPress Database Backup plugin.

Will create a complete backup of your current WordPress you can download to you computer, have it sent by email, or even saved on your server. (= what’s the point actually?)

You can also have it Scheduled as
* Never
* Once Hourly
* Once Daily
* Once Weekly
and sent it automatically to the email you specify.

And yes, those backups are good enough to have your WP blog fully restored. When I moved couple of my blogs to a new host this plugin made the restoration much easier.

3.) Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator

This plugin generates a XML-Sitemap compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog. This format is supported by Ask.com, Google, YAHOO and MSN Search.

4.) Smart Update Pinger

Instead of always pinging when saving a post, the plugin only pings when the post has not previously been published. Edits of posts are “silent”. Also, you can see a log for the latest pings, together with error messages (in the options page).

5.) Optimal Title WP plugin

Optimal Title is a WordPress plugin that mirrors the function of wp_title exactly, but moves the position of the ’separator’ to after the title rather than before. This allows you to have your blog name tacked on to the end of the page title instead of having it appear first.

6.) Another Wordpress Meta Plugin

This plugin allows you to specify META information, that is keywords and descriptions, for your posts and pages. Additional META keywords are derived from your categories.

Seems like this one is getting obsolete so you may use All in One SEO Pack

The newest versions of WordPress also include option of metatags.

7.) Sociable - Social Bookmarking for WordPress

Sociable is a plugin which adds social media buttons to your posts.

8.) Adsense Deluxe plugin

AdSense-Deluxe is a WordPress plugin offering advanced options for managing the automatic insertion of Google AdSense or Yahoo Publisher Network (YPN) ads to your WordPress posts.

9.) Amazon

With WP-Amazon, the Amazon product catalog is available right from WordPress. This plugin will allow you to search Amazon as you compose your post or page entry, so you can include items from Amazon to your entries.
But you have to configure this plugin before using.

10.) RSS Autosubmit

will submit your blog’s rss feed to 16 RSS Directories once a month.

I don’t use all of them on each of my blogs, and of course, I use other ones as well, but those above are currently my most used WordPress plugins. I will add more as I find them useful…

What the heck are we – poor webmasters – going to do with so much money we are earning from all those incredibly lucrative internet marketing opportunities = as the companies promoting them are claiming they are?

Ok, jokes aside, I am glad something ‘new’ came as I am in the front line of the people who wish there Finally be something which can make those haughty Search engines with all their idiotic ever-changing ‘secret’ rules to at least to take a note.
As I am sick and tired of being pushed around like a little communist pagan even “I” am the one who actually Gives money to them!

So when I have heard of this new Amazing PayPerPlay One-in-the-lifetime Opportunity, of course I, at first, did NOT pay any attention. Too much hype. However, eventually it started to ’sink in’ and I decided to take a look, heck I even joined.

It is grossly Overpriced! in my opinion.
